Sergeant Major Robert “Bob” Murphy left an impression on the Todd County community during his time on Earth and was posthumously honored with a bridge dedication Saturday in Clifty.
Murphy, who passed away following a car accident on May 9, 2023, was 58 years old. Doug Cole, a Corporate Recruiting Manager for the Army and Air Force from Clarksville, shared that Murphy was the best man he’s ever known.
He added Murphy also supported his fellow teachers.
Cole mentioned that Murphy supported him through a difficult time in his life about 20 years ago, and five years later, would go on to be his best man.
The Robert “Bob” Murphy Memorial Bridge is located on Kentucky 107/Clifty-Kirkmansville Road over the East Fork Pond River.
