Mr. Sheril Howard, age 81 of Elkton, KY passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024 10:50 P.M. at Hearthstone Place in Elkton. Services will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Latham Funeral Home with Father Frank Ruff officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, June 1, 2024 from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at the funeral home. Services will be live streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com.
Mr. Howard was born January 14, 1943 in Liberty, Kentucky. He was a retired communications worker for AT&T and a farmer. He was a US Army National Guard veteran and was a member of St Francis Catholic Church and a member of the Pastoral Council. Mr. Howard was a member of both the Todd County and Kentucky Cattleman’s Association, Jaycees, the CWA Union and Pioneers Club. He was a lifelong UK basketball fan and played college basketball for Western Kentucky University and Hardin Simmons University. He is preceded in death by his parents Stanley Howard and Lorene Phillips Howard, his brother Mendel Howard and his sister LoVella Overby.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Virginia Shanklin Howard of Elkton, his daughters Cindy Howard and her fiancé Mike Metcalf of Elkton, Leslie and her husband Marcus Reese of Palmyra, TN, Andrea and her husband Lonnie Jones of Allegre and Margaret and her husband Ryan Hinkle of Elkton. 10 grandchildren: Matthew Jones, Carrie Davis, Dylan Eddleman, Jonathon Jones, Evan Eddleman, Parker Denton, Jackson Jones, Micah Jones, Harper Case, Jordan Case and 5 great-grandchildren.
