Terry Dale “Jimmy” Murphy, age 72 of Elkton, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024, in Clarksville. Services for Mr. Jimmy will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Latham Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Keith and Rev. Mike Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery in Guthrie, KY. Visitation for Mr. Jimmy will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Latham Funeral Home. Services will be live-streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com.
Jimmy was born on April 5, 1952, in Christian Co., KY. He was a retired building contractor and a member of Elkton Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Thelma Porter Murphy, his brothers, Norman Scott, and Danny Scott, and his sister, Doris Springer.
Survivors include his son, Michael Murphy of Gilbertsville, KY, his daughters, Charlotte Hicks and Terri Bennett both of Clarksville, TN; his sisters, Dorothy Burchett Shemwell of Clarksville, TN, and Jean Castle of Guthrie; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
