Mr. Grady Edward Riley, age 91 formerly of Elkton, passed away Monday, May 6, 2024, at Baptist Hospital Hardin in Elizabethtown, KY. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 13, 2024, at Latham Funeral Home with Rev. Sherry Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m., Monday until the time for the service at Latham Funeral Home.
Mr. Riley was born November 21, 1932, in Crittenden County. He was retired from the U.S. Army having served in the Vietnam War. He also retired from Phelps Dodge after 22 years of service. He was a Lifetime Member of the VFW and a member of the Elkton Christian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred “E.F. Riley and Mary Jane Chambliss Riley, his daughter, Carolyn “Sissy” Riley Rogers, his niece, Mary Mincey, and his sister, Alberta Jackson.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Lee Riley, his sons, Charlie Riley of Elkton, Jimmy Riley of Plainfield, IN, and Dariel Riley of Brandenburg, KY, his sisters, Ina Mae Blackburn, of Cadiz, KY, Linda Sue Compton of Cadiz, KY and Brenda Hampton of Fairview, KY; and also 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
