A former American Idol contestant and Henry County, Georgia native will headline this year’s Elkton July 3rd on the Square and Fireworks event presented by B.R. Knuckles Insurance Agency.
During a live broadcast celebrating WEKT’s new 92.1 FM signal, B.R. Knuckles owner Johnny Knuckles shared that Lydia Simonds will take to the stage a few hours before the fireworks start.
Knuckles said the event is held on July 3rd to avoid conflicts with other area/regional events and to allow those involved a chance to spend time with their families on the 4th of July holiday. He added the event is a way his business can give back to the community.
While the event timeline is still being worked out, the Todd County Chamber of Commerce Bicycle Parade will take place and several food vendors will be on-site.
The fireworks show will start around 9:00 PM. The square will be closed to traffic in the hours leading up to the show, so people can find the perfect spot to enjoy the show.
