Todd County 4-H recently rolled out a Clover Club campaign in order to help send students to this year’s 4-H Camp.
4-H Extension Agent Lee Ann McCuiston says she kicked off the campaign at the beginning of April and is attempting to raise around $15,000. Camp fees this year are $290 per student and McCuiston says this has been rounded up to $300 in order to divide into “clover levels,” with different donation categories corresponding with the 4-H clover’s head, heart, hands, and health.
Individuals who give or pledge money will be recognized on the Todd County 4-H Facebook page. The campaign will run until May 22nd when all 4-H camp forms are due. So far, she has received $6,900 in donations from the community.
She adds the organization is also offering sibling discounts this year for the first time, with a $50 discount per sibling.
McCuiston says she takes 140 students on average to camp each year and those who need assistance generally amount to around half the group. Because of this, she says it is critical to get support from the community to help send kids to camp so they can all experience the magic.
She adds she is seeking out former campers to share their photos, personal testimonies, and experiences from their time at 4-H camp. She recently posted some pictures from the 2008 camp which she says generated a lot of excitement for the campaign. McCuiston would love for any former campers from any year to share their fond memories on the Todd County 4-H Facebook page. They are also welcome to send McCuiston a Facebook message instead or email her at lmccuist@uky.edu.
McCuiston also expresses her thanks and appreciation to 4-H Council Member Rhonda Werner for her help with the campaign.
More information about the Clover Club campaign and how to donate can be found on the Todd County 4-H Facebook page. Todd County 4-H Camp will take place July 15-19, where students will join campers from Butler and Crittenden counties.
