The Todd County Rescue Squad is hosting a BBQ fundraiser on Saturday, April 13.
Chief Larry Clinard says this will be the squad’s first fundraiser of 2024 and everyone in the community is invited to come out. He adds the squad usually tries to do two BBQ fundraisers per year in order to support the organization. Clinard says the squad works on donations only and he is very appreciative of how generous Todd County is.
He appreciates and thanks everyone who donates, and says the community doesn’t know how much it means to the squad. Clinard says he has a good group of people who work really hard, regardless of what the outcome is.
At Saturday’s fundraiser, the squad will be selling plates, BBQ by the pound, half and whole chickens, BBQ baked potatoes, and more. Plate lunches will come with meat, two sides, and a drink. Clinard says the team will discuss pricing Friday night, begin cooking the same evening, and cook through the night so that everything will be fresh for Saturday morning. They will be serving at the Todd County Justice Center in Elkton at 10 a.m. until they are sold out.
Clinard plans to have an additional fundraiser in July as well as another BBQ in October.
