Mr. Howard Dean Martin, age 79 of Elkton, passed away at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 29, 2024, at his residence. Services will be on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Martin Homeplace, 895 Chester Martin Lane Elkton, KY 42220. Visitation will be on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the Martin Home Place from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. at the Homeplace. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery on North Main St. Elkton, KY.
Mr. Martin was born on March 23, 1944, in Allegre, KY. He was a sharecropper and Founder of Martin Industries. Mr. Martin was a Baptist having been saved at the age of 17. He was also a member of the Todd County Hall of Fame. Mr. Martin is preceded in death by his parents Chester Martin and Ellis Alma Shanklin Martin, his brother Odell Martin, and his sister Naomi Wyatt. Survivors include his wife Linda McGhee Martin of Elkton, KY, his sons John Andrew Martin and his wife Shannon of Elkton, KY, Steve Martin and his wife Jan of Elkton, KY, John Phillip Martin and his wife Kandy of Russellville, KY, his daughters Deana Power and her husband Mark of Elkton, KY, Nancy Wells and her husband Greg of Lewisburg, KY, and Martha Martin of Elkton, KY, his brother Paul Martin of Elkton, KY his sister Janet Dunn of Allegre, KY, 10 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
