Funeral services for 80-year-old Elsie Ione Shemwell, of Sharon Grove, will be 2 PM Sunday at Latham Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in the Gant Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Saturday.
Survivors include:
Sons Billy Hightower (Donna) and Wayne Winders (Michelle), both of Sharon Grove;
Step-sons Joe and Lewis Shemwell, both of Sharon Grove;
Daughters Janie Fowler and Donna Jenkins (Nathan), of Elkton;
Three sisters, Fairy Mae Steger, of Elkton, Mildred McIntosh, of Russellville, and Betty Coppage, of Elkton;
Eight grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Mr. Johnny Martin is officiating. Services will be live streamed at lathamfuneralhome.com.
She died Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
She was born March 10, 1943 in Todd County, and was retired from Emerson Electric after 39 years of service. She loved life and doing for others as well as cooking and canning.
She was a member of Bellview Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her parents William Epley and Dovie Deleney Williams Epley Cooper, her husband Clark Shemwell, her son Danny Hightower, son-in-law Dale Fowler and daughter-in-law Anita Shemwell.
