With the end of the year approaching, Elkton Mayor Arthur Green is reflecting on 2023 and looking ahead to 2024.
Green says 2023 has been a good year for the city. Elkton has continued to see growth in its housing market, new businesses, and successful community events.
The city was also able to complete a sewer renovation project and Green says they will continue working to improve it. He adds they were able to maintain a good, strong budget for the year, allowing salary increases to be provided for all city employees.
As for 2024, Green looks forward to continued growth in the city. One of the main topics for the new year will be housing.
Green adds he will continue to try to promote the development of business facilities as well as work on the city’s sewer and water infrastructure. He is also looking forward to the implementation with the county of its planning process of working with the cities and how that will help the county to develop. He says in some cases, it’s a matter of doing what they’ve been doing and assisting when they can.
Green says he wants to let the community know the city is open for business.
Looking ahead, he sees nothing but continued good times for the city and the county in 2024.
