Around fifteen Todd County families will have a brighter holiday thanks to the efforts of the Back To Back Foundation.

Gift distribution took place Thursday at Petrie Memorial Methodist Church. Families received boxes of gifts and the opportunity to choose additional items for their children, thanks to a generous donation from Christian County High School. Furthermore, each family received a gift card for purchasing groceries.

Back To Back volunteers made many people emotional or speechless as they loaded gifts into vehicles. Brice Long, a native of Hopkinsville, and a country music singer/songwriter, founded the organization in 2005 and recently expanded into Todd County.

Long added the extra gifts from Christian County High School, which came from all the clubs within the school, resulting in well over 500 additional toys being collected to be handed out for the distribution days.

As a fundraising mechanism, Long hosts an annual songwriters showcase at the Alhambra Theatre in Hopkinsville each summer.

Previous shows have also featured country artists like Steve Wariner and Dillion Carmichael.

The Back To Back Foundation reached over $1 million in donations this summer. Distribution days will be held in Trigg and Christian counties before Christmas Eve. In total, approximately 130 families will have received support this year.

Donations to the organization can be made here.

The organization expressed gratitude to Todd County residents for their support, particularly acknowledging That Guy Who Fixes Stuff, a local business that generously donated a washer and dryer to a family in need this year.
