Several Todd County children will have a brighter Christmas, thanks to a generous donation of 17 bicycles from Novelis in Guthrie.
Todd County Judge Executive Todd Mansfield encouraged the Rotary Club of Elkton and WEKT Radio to join forces to make the bicycle giveaway a reality. Rotary President Glenn Slack said the club is honored to share a little Christmas cheer this holiday season.
WEKT’s President and CEO Beth Mann, added that this is exactly the kind of community service she and her team enjoy the most.
The Elkton Rotary Club and WEKT Radio are searching for Todd County children of all ages with extra needs, allowing anyone to nominate a child, including self-nominations.
Parents, grandparents, family members, or even neighbors are being asked to write a letter to Santa about why their special young person deserves a free bicycle for Christmas. There are no strings attached, and confidentiality is guaranteed. A form requesting the name, address, and age of the child along with a paragraph about why Little Johnny or Little Susie should be chosen can be found here.
The deadline to nominate will be December 18. Winners will be notified no later than December 21st.
