Metalsa Officials In Touch With West Kentucky Workforce Board After Fires

Despite a serious fire early last week, and another flare-up Monday morning, several employees of Hopkinsville’s Metalsa are back on the job.

In the aftermath, however, officials have kept all hands on deck — in the case a layoff, lengthy work stoppage, or shutdown needs to take place.

Executive Director Carter Hendricks spent some of Monday afternoon updating the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council on the situation.

Hendricks noted this means connecting with both West Kentucky Workforce Board Director Sheila Clark, its Business Liaison Tom Sholar, and their full team of associates.

Hendricks also lauded the efforts of the Hopkinsville Fire Department — whose officials have spent more than 24 working hours clearing the scene before turning some of the plant back over to Metalsa leadership.
