As school districts across the Commonwealth announce their 2022-23 school year statewide testing results Wednesday, Todd County Public School officials are optimistic about the road ahead.
Superintendent Mark Thomas tells Your WEKT News Edge that North and South Todd elementary schools were classified orange, a level 2 out of 5. Todd County Middle School was rated yellow, level 3 out of 5, while Todd County Central High School was an orange classification.
None of the schools had any federal classifications, meaning there were no major problems to fix.
Thomas says they don’t wait for the full results to be made public before they begin helping their students.
Thomas adds they will administer a couple of benchmark tests throughout the school year to see where things stand, beginning with one at the end of the fall semester.
Thomas says he’s proud of the work every educator in the district does daily.
He adds while the test results are not where they want them to be, the district is moving forward positively.
