The Lady Rebels of Todd County Central High School have been preparing all summer for the upcoming basketball season.
After his coaching debut last year, Nick Suttle is now a full-time staff member for Todd County, according to Superintendent Mark Thomas. Suttle says he’s very excited about being part of the upcoming season.
He says the group is probably the most talented team he’s ever coached in his career.
He adds the Rebels beat Gallatin and Louisville Male High Schools over the summer, big wins for the team.
Abby Williams, a senior, thinks last season showed a big jump from where the team had been in recent years. After this summer, she says the upcoming season will be twice as good. She adds family is what’s important to her for this new season.
For junior Alexis Taylor, it’s building community within the team.
Zalaya Smith, another senior, wants to prioritize growing as people.
Suttle adds the team has some new equipment this year — a piece of technology called Dr. Dish.
The Lady Rebels will open their season Nov. 28 against Owensboro’s Apollo High School.
